Yahoo has been facing numerous major changes in the way they operate ever since former Google employee, Marissa Mayer, stepped up as CEO of the company. Yahoo is known by some of its services, such as Tumblr, Yahoo Mail, and Yahoo Weather; unfortunately, not a lot of people seem to acknowledge one of its most advanced and functional products, called Aviate. Back in 2014, Yahoo invested in a launcher app which showed a lot of promise for the future; since being purchased by Yahoo, Aviate went through a closed beta where developers further polished and improved the overall functionality of the app. Aviate is one of the best launchers out for Android users, as it makes use of the various Yahoo services and integrates them into a single ecosystem, so you have all of your information available at a quick glance. Today, the practical Aviate launcher just received a brand new update, which introduces an advanced feature called the Smart Stream, the natural evolution from the Spaces feature.
The Smart Stream feature has the main goal of assembling all the information that might be relevant to you at the exact moment. Aviate will now be able to intelligently sort your content in a Google Now-fashion, showing you only the information you need without having to take multiple steps to get it. The Smart Stream will learn your daily schedule and based on it, Aviate will populate your Smart Stream. The great thing about Aviate’s latest feature, the Smart Stream, is that it is not limited to an initial setup, as it will become smarter and more personalized the more you use Aviate Launcher. If by any chance, the card you are looking for is not available at first glance in the Smart Stream, you can always find it by opening the Focus menu, conveniently located in the search bar of your homescreen.
The Aviate team stated that over the last few months, they’ve tested numerous new features that would improve the overall user experience of the launcher, and according to their official announcement of the Smart Stream update, it is just the beginning for Aviate. The team also noted how they count on users to give their feedback about this great new feature and what should be improved about it. The new update is already available for download from Google Play.
