Zopo Introduced Two New Smartphones And A Smartwatch

Zopo is another Chinese manufacturer that may not be very well known, but the Company has been around since 2012 and they have created some mobile products with a few innovations like a glasses-free 3D screen. They have stores to showcase their products in some Asian and European countries and they have recently changed their product branding to make it more simple and easier to remember for consumers. The Color brand will be used in their lower-end smartphones targeted to young users, Flash will include some smartphones with good designs and capable cameras while Speed is the brand for their high-end offerings.

Today, during an event on Shanghai, the company unveiled two smartphones belonging to the Speed brand and their first smartwatch. The phones are called Speed 7 and Speed 7 Plus and they share a very similar design with metal-like finish backs and frames that are treated to look glossy and symmetrical. The Speed 7 features a 5-inch IPS display with Full HD resolution, the processor that powers the phone is the MediaTek MT6753, which is an octa-core chipset with 64-bit architecture and the amount of RAM is 3 GB, to perform well with multitasking. The internal memory is 16 GB and they can be expanded by Micro SD cards up to 64 GB. The main camera includes a 13-megapixel sensor and there’s a 5-megapixel one on the front. The included battery has a capacity of 2,500 mAh, it features LTE connectivity and its dimensions are 146.1 x 70.6 x 8.65 mm.

The Speed 7 Plus, as the name suggests, features a larger 5.5-inch screen with the same Full HD resolution and this time, the company highlights that the bezels on the sides of the screen are very narrow. Most other specs are nearly identical to the ones in the smaller phone, such as the processor and amount of RAM, internal memory, and camera configuration. The battery is larger with a 3,000 mAh capacity and this phone’s dimensions are 153.6 x 76.5 x 8.8 mm. Both phones run Android 5.1 out of the box with the Z-UI launcher on top. The phones will be available to pre-order from August 3 and the price of the Speed 7 is $199 while the larger one costs $229 and there are some coupons and promotions available on the company’s site.

As for the smartwatch, it’s called Z-Watch, the design resembles the Moto 360 including a stainless steel body and the almost circular display with 240 x 204 resolution. It includes most features that we may come to expect from a modern smartwatch, like answering calls which can be controlled with some gestures, it features a heart-rate monitor and pedometer, it can monitor the sleeping habits of the user and it can control the music player with the dedicated on-screen controls.
