ZUK is a new Chinese smartphone OEM backed by Lenovo and Qihoo 360. This company has been talked about quite a lot lately, mainly because they intend to release their very own Cyanogen OS-powered smartphone soon. That phone will be called ZUK Z1, and we’ve been getting a lot of info regarding it lately. We’ve seen various rumors reporting on various aspects of this device, the company has also shared some info, and the device was certified by TENAA quite recently. ZUK’s CEO has already shared one official render with the public a couple of days ago, and he has just posted two additional ones on his official Weibo (Chinese social network) account.
If you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll get to see the two new renders. The first render shows us the physical home button below the display, as well as the Type-C USB 3.0 port on the bottom of this device, while a speaker grill and a microphone are also located down there. The second image gives us a good look at the ZUK Z1’s camera sensor, LED flash, and the SIM tray which will be located on the left-hand side of this smartphone. As you can see in these images, the device will sport a metallic frame whose edges are chamfered. That being said, let’s see what else we know about this device.
The company has already confirmed that the device will sport a Type-C USB 3.0 port, which we’ve already noticed in one of the images. The physical home button will double as a fingerprint scanner, that’s another thing that ZUK already confirmed via an official teaser. According to various leaks, ZUK Z1 will feature a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display along with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. This handset will be powered by either the Snapdragon 808, or the Snapdragon 810 SoC, and you can also expect 4G LTE connectivity to be included here. Android 5.1 Lollipop will come pre-installed on this device, while you’ll find Cyanogen OS installed on top of Google’s operating system. The ZUK Z1 will launch on August 11, and we’ll report back if any additional info surfaces before then.
