We have the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 in hand now. Which means it’s time to do some content on these new devices from Samsung. We have the Black Sapphire, 32GB version of the Galaxy Note 5 here for those wondering. First in our how to series is to show you how to take a screenshot. It seems like something easy, but it’s still the number one question we get in every device.
Google added in the ability to take a screenshot in Android 4.0 – Ice Cream Sandwich. Now that was back in 2011, and there are still many users asking us how to take a screenshot. So here we go.
There are a couple of ways to take a screenshot in the Galaxy Note 5. The easiest way is to press volume down and power together. In a few seconds you’ll see a small animation showing that a screenshot was taken. Additionally, it’ll show you a new notification with the screenshot. From that notification you can view the screenshot as well as editing or sharing the screenshot.
The other way is a palm swipe. Not the easiest unless it’s laying down on a table, but it still works. You’ll also get a notification in the notification tray similar to the method used above.
Finally, you can use the S Pen to take a screenshot and write on it as well. One of the more popular features of the Galaxy Note 5. With this method you can also choose to use just part of the screen. Saving you from needing to crop it later. You can do this by using the “Smart Select” option. Once you’ve grabbed the part of the screen you want to screenshot, you can then choose to write on the image, share it, save it to your scrapbook or just save it to your gallery.
There you have it. Three simple ways to take a screenshot on the Galaxy Note 5. Now if you need additional help, we have a video below showing how to do all three on the Galaxy Note 5. So feel free to check that out for additional visuals. Make sure you stay tuned to Android Headlines for continuing coverage of the Galaxy Note 5 as well as the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus.
