The way tech is going nowadays, everything is becoming connected. The good news about this is that all your bits and pieces will be able to connect to each other. The bad news about this is that there is only a matter of time before everything comes with its own data plan and bill. Keeping track of all those bills will probably also become quite time-consuming. Well, if you are an AT&T customer, then today the carrier has announced the first steps in offering a combined package, an easy way for you to pay for your TV service and mobile costs together.
AT&T this morning announced the first nationwide combined billing for a TV and phone service. As such, you can know combine both services into one easy to manage payment. In terms of the top whack option, AT&T have announced their customers (both new and old) can pay out a straight monthly amount of $200. For that figure, the customer can expect DVR and HD content on four connected TVs. Bundled into the price will also be 10GB shareable data which can be split over four phone lines. Not forgetting unlimited talk and text are thrown in too. AT&T state this new combined deal will lead to an average annual saving of up to $600. That is, providing you had all these features and services to begin with of course.
The announcement details that the service is due to go live starting August 10th and as such you do have a few days to think about whether it is for you. If you have been following the AT&T news of late and especially the details surrounding the purchase of DirecTV by AT&T (which was only approved by the FCC less than two weeks ago), then it should not come as too much of a surprise that the TV service being offered is fuelled by DirecTV.
