Bandai Namco Launches PAC-MAN 256 Endless Maze

Retro gamers unite, Bandai Namco has just released their latest game and it’s something which many old school gamers will surely appreciate: PAC-MAN 256 – Endless Maze. This is Pac-Man like you’ve never experienced it before with loads of powerups available that you won’t see in the original game, along with some revamped visuals that have only been slightly touched up for modern day devices. The gameplay style is also a little bit different than what some people may remember so it puts a nice new twist on what a classic title used to be. If you like retro classics and endless gameplay, this might be worth looking into.

For starters, you may notice the visuals don’t appear the same as they do in the original set of PAC-MAN games, which was top down and aw you staring down at the maze while you’d try to maneuver your way through and eat pellets while avoiding ghosts. This still has that element to it alongside the goal to rack up as many points as you can, but there is also now a sense of urgency as you’ll trying to flee from the glitch that’s eating up the maze. Get caught and it’s game over, so, you know…. don’t do that.

The other new twist here  which basically ties into the other element previously mentioned. As you’re trying to escape from the game glitch that eats the screen the maze is also endless so you can keep going and going and going until you either lose or get bored. Whichever comes first. PAC-MAN 256 Endless Maze also features all kinds of new powerups, like lasers, tornados, and giants, (giants? yes.. giants) and there’s apparently a surprise which Bandai Namco has baked in that you can discover if you can manage to string together a 256 combo. If you want to find out what the “super special surprise” is you’ll have to play the game, or just Google it, but playing is more fun. The game is already on the Play Store for free, but it’s also playable on the NVIDIA SHIELD and supports the SHIELD controller so if you want a more traditional feel instead of using touchscreen controls, you’ll be able.
