Blackview BV5000 Is An Affordable Yet Rugged Phone

Hardware design has been a focus point for most of the companies that make mobile products, but with more sophisticated designs, they are becoming more fragile. They are becoming slimmer and more compact and yet more powerful, so sturdier materials have to be used in order to make them a little more durable. Of course, there are some users that don’t want to be too careful with their smartphones in case they fall down or encounter any other accidents. For those users, companies have created some rugged devices to be used in outdoor activities. Some include military-grade certifications, making them usable in most conditions including extreme temperatures.

Blackview is a Chinese manufacturer that was founded a couple of years ago, focusing on making quality devices providing a good overall experience. Now, the company is planning to offer a rugged option known as BV5000. It’s designed to hold up against most situations and it has some neat features like 4G LTE connectivity and still, the company managed to make it affordable. Although specifications are scarce at this time, the phone is built on resistant rubber that makes it waterproof, dustproof and it’s supposed to resist fall damage. It includes a high capacity battery of 4,700 mAh, which combined with the energy-efficient quad-core processor should provide fairly good battery life.

There are not that many details about the display, as its measurements are still unknown as is the technology used on it, but it is said to sport HD resolution. There’s support for USB OTG, so some peripherals can be used with this phone. The cameras included are an 8-megapixel one on the back with LED flash and a 2-megapixel one on the front. On the software side, Android 5.1 is running out of the box and there’s a theft protection feature which prevents would-be thieves from resetting the phone. There are no details for pricing or availability, but color options include violet black or pearl white though some pictures indicate an option with golden accents. The specs are nothing out of the ordinary, suggesting that the phone will be competing with some affordable options, but it will be distinguished by its durable hardware.
