Each year, google holds a number of events during the course of the year to highlight various aspects of the growing Google ecosystem. From the end user perspective, the most well-known of these is probably Google’s I/O event which takes place round about the start of the summer. This year, I/O occurred at the end of May and allowed Google to showcase everything Android and we got to see (or hear about) the likes of Android Pay, Android M, Google Photos and so on.
Well, if you are a developer then you might be more interested in Google’s routine Chrome Dev Summit. This is one of those events Google holds with a much clearer focus on developers and allows them to meet up with each others as well as engineers from Chrome and the leading web developers in the field. Not to mention, at the event, Google will be showcasing their latest next-gen Web Apps and APIs to give you a feel of what’s to come for Chrome going forward. The event is made up of various workshops, talks, engineer led panels and code labs. As such, it is a great event for any developers looking to get more in touch with Chrome. For those that are more interested in this sort of event, Google has now confirmed the dates or the Chrome Dev Summit for this year.
The event will take place over two days starting from November 17th (the 17th and 18th) and will be held at Mountain View. For those interested in attending in person, the announcement details that ticket registration will open on August 11th (next week) at approximately 9am PT. For those who would like to see what goes on at the event but cannot attend for whatever reason, then Google will also be live streaming the event for you. In addition, if you cannot make the live feeds, Google will be uploaded all the sessions and presentations to YouTube once they’re over.
