In a couple of days time, Samsung will take to the stage in New York and announce the latest device being added to their popular Note range, the Galaxy Note 5. It is largely expected that Samsung will also introduce a new variant of the Galaxy S6 Edge, in the form of the S6 Edge Plus. As a name like this suggests, the S6 Edge Plus is expected to be a bigger device and that is exactly what the rumors suggest it will be. In fact, most of the rumors for both the Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus follow along much of the same lines. For instance, both are expected to come sporting 5.7-inch Quad HD displays. Although, there is some debate that the S6 Edge Plus might come sporting a 5.5-inch display
Likewise, both are rumored to come touting 4GB RAM and both being powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 7420 processor. In fact, both will come running on Android 5.1.1. and both are said to be powered by a 3,000 mAh battery. In terms of this last point, the rumors on the batteries seem to be much more firm for the Note 5 compared to the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. Although, for both devices, the batter marks an interesting aspect. If the battery is 3,000mAh on the Note 5 then it will be a lesser capacity battery than what came on the Galaxy Note 4. Likewise, it it is a 3,000 mAh battery on the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, then it will be quite the step up from the 2,600 mAh battery which came on the Galaxy S6 Edge.
Well, the latest on this point comes from @evleaks. The known tipster is today stating that both devices will come sporting the same 3,000 mAh battery. In addition, the information from @evleaks states that the battery will offer 336 hours of standby and a max talk time of 21 hours. Although, this wont be massive news thanks to the previous rumors, it does at least add another layer of confirmation that a 3,000 mAh battery is on route for both devices. In other news today, the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus was reportedly outed as having a August 21st pre-order date and an early September shipping date. Either way, with the event only a couple of days away, all will be known soon enough
