HTC Desire 728 Images Leaked On The Net

Earlier on Monday, we learnt that HTC’s newest mid-range smartphone has been approved by Chinese regulator TENAA. The device listed on TENAA had the model number D728t, and it was fairly evident that unless something went drastically haywire, the smartphone would be announced as the Desire 728, as part of HTC growing mid-range portfolio under the Desire sub-brand. Now we have some more scoop on the upcoming handset, and even though the phone is yet to be announced officially by HTC, there are a whole bunch of photos that have popped up on the net, allegedly belonging to the Desire 728. The device is said to measure 157.9 mm x 77.8 mm in size, and is said to be about 7.87 mm in thickness. The Desire 728 reportedly weighs 150 grams and is expected to be a dual SIM device. The device is also believed to come with dual front-facing BoomSound speakers – an HTC hallmark.

As for the known hardware specs of the Desire 728, the phone is said to feature a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display panel, which will come with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, giving it a 267 dpi pixel density. The phone will be powered by MediaTek’s MTK6753 SoC, which comes with an embedded octa-core CPU clocked at a frequency of 1.3 GHz. The device will also reportedly come with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of inbuilt storage, which can be further expanded, thanks to the presence of a microSD card slot. Coming to the imaging credentials of the Desire 728, the primary rear-facing camera on the smartphone will have a 13-megapixel sensor, while the secondary front-facing camera will come with a 5-megapixel sensor. The device will also run Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box with HTC’s proprietary Sense 7 user interface on top. The device is also slated to come with a 2,800 mAh battery.

While the connectivity options for the Desire 728 are still not spelled out clearly, the D728t spotted earlier on TENNA (which is thought to be the same device), will come with LTE connectivity alongside GSM and TD-SCDMA. While there’s still no complete clarity on the device as yet for obvious reasons, there will hopefully be more leaks and exposure for the device in the coming days, which will help us get a clearer picture. Till then the images in the gallery below will have to do.
