Huawei Mate8 Leaks Again, Side Bezels Begone

Huawei is one of the most talked-about China-based smartphone OEMs this year. This Chinese company has already released quite a few devices this year, and a number of them are quite solid devices. The company has outed their P8 flagship line of devices along with the Honor 7, which is a high-end smartphone as well. The Honor 7i was introduced yesterday with a rather interesting flip-up rear-facing camera, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Earlier this year, Huawei has also introduced the MediaPad X2 tablet, and the Huawei Watch, Android Wear-powered smartwatch.

That being said, Huawei seems to be planning to launch another couple of devices this year. The Huawei Mate7(S) and Mate8 were mentioned quite a few times thus far, and a mysterious Huawei-branded device with a curved display has also leaked recently. If you click here, you’ll be able to see the Mate8 images that leaked the other day. Unfortunately, the display was turned off in those images, but now we have another couple of images to share with you, and this time around, we get to see the display as well.

If you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll get to see the same device that leaked yesterday, but this time around you get to see that it’s bezel-less as well. According to these images, the Mate8 won’t sport any bezel on the side (including black bars), only the metallic trim that holds the device in one piece. The capacitive buttons are here once again, which is kind of odd for a Huawei device, and might annoy some people. We, of course, cannot confirm these images are legit, they might as well be fake, but this is the second time we’re seeing this device in just a couple of days.

The Huawei Mate8 is rumored to sport a 5.7 or a 6-inch display along with 3 or 4GB of RAM and a 4,500mAh battery. The device will reportedly going to be powered by the Kirin 950 SoC, 20.7-megapixel rear-facing camera, and it will launch this year. It remains to be seen if Huawei intends to announce the Mate7(S) or the Mate8 at this year’s IFA in Berlin. The company has already scheduled a September 2nd event, and it remains to be seen what will they announce over there. Either way, stay tuned for more info.
