Leaked Images Of Moto 360 (2nd Gen) Watch Casing Appear

If you are a Motorola fan, then it looks like it is a busy news day already. In fact, if you are a Moto 360 fan then it looks like it is a very busy news day already. Only about an hour ago, images were posted online showing what was claimed to be the next-gen Moto 360 smartwatch. The images came from an eagle eyed individual who spotted the smartwatch being worn on a train in Chicago. These were then followed by another image of the watch being spotted in public. Well, that is not the only leak for today as now, more images are appearing of what seems to be the the case for the Moto 360 watch face. Now generally speaking a watch casing would not be something that is likely to be that newsworthy. However, the interest behind the Moto 360 is massive thanks to the continued popularity of the previous generation. Therefore, on this occasion, with this smartwatch, this is worth noting. So what can the latest images of the casing tell us about the next gen Moto 360?

Well, it would seem quite a lot. The person who has leaked the images also conveniently made a note of the most interesting features. First up, and confirming recent renders and the images fro this morning, the physical button has indeed been moved to the 2 o’clock position. The leaker also notes that there is a microphone hole on the left hand side of the casing. The lugs are designed to work with 22 mm watch bands, while the diameter of the case comes in at 45.5 mm and the bezels are thicker (“a tad”) than those on the original Moto 360. Last up, the watch case is stainless steel with a bead-blasted finish.

If you are wondering about the authenticity of the images, then the poster states that they are an employees of a Chinese company who “have friends in the supply chain” and were able to get hold of the case. So take what you will from that and whether these are real images of the Moto 360 (2nd Gen) case. However, they do seem to be lining up quite well with the other images that have appeared recently, which does seem to suggest these could be the real deal. With a reported IFA appearance for the next Moto 360, it won’t be long until details like these are confirmed or disproved.
