Leaked Picture Could Provide First Look At The Sony Xperia Z5

Sony has just announced officially two phones today, both including the number 5 in their names, which indicates that they belong to the offerings for the second half of the year. The two new phones, the Xperia M5 and Xperia C5 Ultra belong to the company’s mid-range category but still offer some interesting features like their front-facing cameras. Sony has announced another event on September 2nd, a date in which they could introduce their newest flagship belonging to their Xperia Z lineup.

There’s not much information about this handset or what to expect from this device, but the date of the event matches the launch date that was previously rumored. Some rumors regarding the new phone’s internals include that the company will once again use the Snapdragon 810 processor powering up the device, this is despite it having some trouble with the way it handles its temperature. Which might be accurate as a new Qualcomm processor is not expected until a few months later. 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage will once again be included and the screen is supposed to be slightly larger than the one in previous models measuring 5.5 inches. The 20.7-megapixel sensor in the main camera will probably be improved this time around even if the resolution is not increased and the front facing camera will now sport an 8-megapixel sensor.

In terms of the design, the company has been somehow criticized of using a very similar design among their flagship devices, so there are rumors that the new phone could take some inspiration from their TV lineup and having a cleaner look while other rumors suggest that the OmniBalance design will once again be seen in the new flagship models. Now, a leaked picture of the alleged device can confirm some of the previous rumors, especially the one that said that the company will include a fingerprint sensor for the first time. The power button has changed its shape and is now much larger, so the fingerprint scanner could be included in it, and the volume rocker is located much lower than in the previous versions, it can be because of ergonomic reasons, but it could also be suggesting that the screen is now actually larger. The design is very similar to the one of the Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3+, which might upset some consumers, but there’s no branding in the front, just like previous rumors suggested, also, the headphone jack seems to have moved to the bottom, next to the Micro USB port. There are two Sony-looking devices in the picture and an iPhone between them and in both screens a fingerprint related software can be seen running, so this might be the first look of the Xperia Z5 Compact and the Xperia Z5.
