OnePlus 2 Wallpapers Are Now Available For Download

After several leaks, rumors and speculative guesstimates on the net, OnePlus finally announced its brand new flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 2, a couple of days ago with all the hype and larger than life projections that one has come to expect from the company over the past year or so. OnePlus is promoting the device as the “2016 Flagship Killer”, after the company’s first ever release, the OnePlus One, was described as the “Flagship Killer” last year, upon its release. Common consensus seems to suggest that the Hong Kong-based smartphone vendor has once again managed to find the sweet spot between price and performance, and has introduced a really exciting smartphone at an extremely compelling price-point.

Coming to the whole point of this post, the complete set of twenty six official OnePlus 2 wallpapers is now available for download, as per a link posted on the official OnePlus forums by lead designer, Arz Bhatia. The default wallpaper on the OnePlus 2 is apparently named ‘Hans’ after an India-based, Swedish born artist named Hampus, according to a blog post by the Head of Mobile Product at OnePlus, Helen. The wallpaper set has been described in the same blog post as “that fairy dust to … help turn metal and plastic into something more personal and expressive”. While some of the wallpapers can be seen in the gallery incorporated below, the entire set can be downloaded from the official download link provided in the image link below.

As for the OnePlus 2, the smartphone happens to the second generation flagship device from the Hong Kong-based startup OnePlus as mentioned above, and replaces the OnePlus One that the company launched last year. The smartphone features a 5.5-inch Full HD 1920 x 1080 LTPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display, with a pixel density of 401 dpi. The device is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 (v2.1) chipset, with a 64-bit octa-core CPU clocked at a maximum of 1.8 GHz. The SoC also comes with an embedded Adreno 430 GPU for graphics processing needs. The smartphone comes in two different variants with the $329 version offering 3 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage, whereas the $389 version comes with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage.

Coming to the smartphone’s imaging prowess, the OnePlus 2 comes with a 13-megapixel primary camera with OIS, laser auto-focus and dual LED flash. The secondary camera on the device meanwhile, comes with a 5-megapixel sensor. The phone comes with a non-removable Li-Po battery rated at 3,300 mAh and comes pre-loaded with Oxygen OS 2.0, which is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop. The handset features a fingerprint reader which can hold up to five different profiles, and is said to be nominally faster than Apple’s Touch ID. The device also happens to be one of the first smartphones to come with a microUSB 2.0 Type-C connector. Some of the official OnePlus 2 wallpapers can be seen in the gallery below.
