Sony BSP60 Smart Speaker Available In The U.S.

Sony has been having a little bit of a turbulent time over this year with their latest Xperia flagship devices. However, they are not the only devices Sony has incoming for the mobile market. As well as their smartphones they also do a number of accessory that work with your smartphones and one of them in particular, has been gaining a lot of attention over the last few weeks and months. This is the Sony Smart BSP60 Bluetooth speaker

Now, although there is a wide selection of Bluetooth speakers currently available and some at a really good price, this one caught the headlines as it is also referred to as the “dancing speaker”. That is largely due to the fact that it can dance along with you, when it is playing music. The speaker itself is ball shape and can be controlled by voice commands. Not to mention, that as well as playing music and dancing, it can also read you back your announcements and notifications and so on. In fact, you can even ask the BSP60 questions and it will try to answer them for you. For instance, need to know the weather? Ask the speaker and it will tell you. It even understands a variety of languages too. So it really is a ‘smart’ speaker.

Well, the BSP60 was announced back at MWC in March and has taken its time reaching the market. However, back in May it finally became available to Pre-Order in Europe. Now, it seems if you live in the U.S., you can actually order the BSP60 dancing speaker. The listing has now gone live on Sony’s official U.S. site. Although, it is worth pointing out that when you click the buy now link you are redirected to Mobile Planet to make the actual purchase. At the moment it is not clear as to whether it will be available through other retailers in the very near future, but if you want one now, then this is your option. In terms of cost, the BSP60 is available for $319 which is slighter cheaper than it was available to pre-order in Europe ($335) for.
