Specs for Upcoming Meizu Smartphone Leak on Weibo

Meizu is one of the more popular companies in China. And we’ve actually had the privilege of flying to Beijing a few times for their smartphone launches. Meizu’s flagship line is the MX and MX Pro line. Which Meizu has stressed that they are no longer doing the MX Pro line of devices, after doing just the MX4 Pro last year. Now some specs of an upcoming flagship from Meizu have leaked out on Weibo, which is China’s version of Twitter since Twitter is banned in China.

The specs that we’re looking at is a 6-inch 2K display. Along with the Exynos 7422 processor, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. It’s also rumored to be using a 20.7MP Sony sensor for the camera as well as a pretty large 4100mAh battery inside. Which should make the device last for quite a while on a charge. Something we can all get behind. Now, after the MX4 Pro and MX5 had the physical home button with fingerprint reader, it’d be tough to see this smartphone without that. So it’s a high possibility that this smartphone will have a physical home button as well as a fingerprint reader. It’s also running Android 5.1 with Flyme 5.0, and like recent Meizu devices, it’ll support Hi-Fi audio, which is important to audiophiles.

Li Nan, who posted these specs on Weibo, did not specify when this device would launch or what the name of it is. With the fall season quickly approaching, it could quite possibly be launched before the end of the year. Last year, Meizu launched three smartphones between September and December. With the MX4, MX4 Pro and M1 Note. It definitely sounds like a powerhouse and a smartphone that I’d definitely love to check out. Chinese manufacturers normally put in huge batteries, and that is actually due to their carrier networks in China. Which use a lot more battery than they do in the rest of the US.

We’ll have to keep our eyes peeled to see what else surfaces for this mystery Meizu device. But it has definitely peaked our interest. So stay tuned to Android Headlines for more.
