Today is officially Samsung day as the company has now finally and formally introduced the Galaxy S6 Edge+. Along with that introduction, came the announcement that the Galaxy S6 Edge+ will be available to pre-order starting today and available to buy in-store from August 21st. Well, joining the carrier ranks who have already made their announcements, Sprint are next to confirm that they will also be carrying the Galaxy S6 Edge+ on their network.
The Sprint announcement has now confirmed that the Galaxy S6 Edge+ will be available to pre-order both online and in-store starting from 3pm EDT today. Sprint also note that pre-orders will begin shipping August 14th while the Galaxy S6 Edge+ will be available in-store and online from August 21st. While in terms of pricing, the Galaxy S6 Edge+ is available on Sprint Lease for $0 down and $30 per month for the 32GB model and $0 down and $35 per month for the 64GB model. In terms of Sprint Easy Pay, the 32GB model will be available for $o down and $33 per month, while the 64GB model will be available for $0 down and $37 per month. Alternatively, if you choose a normal two-year contract then you are looking at $349.99 for the 32GB model up front and $449.99 for the 64GB model. While to buy the Galaxy S6 Edge+ outright from Sprint, the price for the 32GB model will be $792 and $888 for the 64GB model. Sprint are also offering $200 trade-in for your old phone and a free Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 for those who sign up for a new two-year contract.
So what do you get for that kind of money. Well, Samsung did confirm that the majority of specs on offer with the Galaxy S6 Edge+ are the same as those on the standard Galaxy S6 Edge. These include the 16-megapixel rear camera, the 5-megapixel front facing camera and the same Exynos 7420 processor powering everything. Of course, there are some notable difference and the main one is the use of a much larger 5.7-inch Quad HD display. The battery is also being bumped up the 3,000 mAh, while the RAM jumps up to 4GB. Samsung has confirmed that the S6 Edge Plus will be available in both a 32 and 64GB storage variant and likewise, Sprint have now also confirmed they will be stocking both.
