The story of OnePlus is short but fabled; the now nearly 2 year-old Chinese company has gone through plenty of ups and downs in that small time frame and is now ready for its second phone to go prime time. We got our hands on the phone a few weeks ago at a special event held in San Francisco and were able to bring you a review of the hardware presented there. While the final packaging was at the event there weren’t any unsealed boxes, leaving a proper unboxing a little difficult. Now that we have our final review unit we were able to bring the whole unboxing straight to you in its full shrink-wrapped glory.
The 64GB model of the phone is now officially for sale in many countries around the world for $389, and it certainly seems that much of the price increase from the OnePlus One to the OnePlus Two was put into the phone rather than the packaging. Gone is the flashy and fancy packaging from the OnePlus One and in its place is a nice looking but ultimately incredibly simple packaging that’s only a minor step up from the plain cardboard box that Xiaomi or Samsung ship their phones in. Inside OnePlus has included essentially the same number of items as the OnePlus One and again keeps things simple and light. What wasn’t noticed at first was that OnePlus ships the phone with a screen protector already on the device, an added value for anyone as it’s a great feeling protector and will surely keep the screen in good shape for a long time to come.
Check out our first impressions of the out-of-the-box experience after the unboxing and let us know what you think of the phone! We’ll of course have plenty of OnePlus 2 content and the full review coming soon, so stay tuned to us!
