Video: Unboxing the Elephone P8000

Elephone has been cranking out phones left and right this year, with many different models for different regions and price segments of the market.  This latest flavor of phone fits squarely in the mid-range price category and as usual packs in some incredible hardware for that price.  Featuring a metal frame, fingerprint reader, the latest MediaTek MT6753 true octa-core chipset and 3GB of RAM, this phone isn’t playing around in the specs category.  For around $200 the Elephone P8000 can be yours, and we’ll definitely have a full review of the phone out for you very shortly, but in the mean time check out the unboxing video and first look at the phone below.

Elephone’s previous flagship, the Elephone P7000, was reviewed by us just slightly over a month ago.  Both of these phones feature some similar specs and it’s going to come down to price and what you’re looking for in a phone as to which one offers the better bang for your buck.  Out of the box the P8000 comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop, an upgrade over the Android 5.0 Lollipop that comes with the Elephone P7000.  It’s likely that Elephone will get the P7000 upgraded to 5.1 Lollipop since it’s an incremental update in many ways, but for now the P8000 has the edge there.
