Action Launcher 3.6 Brings Quickfind And More

One of the greatest blessings of Android is the freedom it gives you to modify the system and use whatever app you want to in order to do anything. As such, you can put third party launchers to replace your home screen if you are not happy with what your manufacturer gives you. Action Launcher is a famous home screen replacement and the latest update has just landed in the Play Store. Action Launcher version 3.6 brings in some new features, bug fixes, and performance improvements, so, let’s see what they have to offer us now.

The main new feature is Quickfind, which is a simple search bar that can speed up things a lot during your day to day app-opening routine. It will show up at the top of the app drawer and you can click it to put a search term. However, the good thing here is that if you swipe up the app drawer icon, the bar will get focus, the keyboard will open and you can just type, making things faster. When pressing the “Go” key after using Quickfind, the first app on the list will be loaded, which is helpful if you have a big phone, making it hard to reach the icons with just your thumb. The Quickfind bar is also present in the widget picker screen, so you can also search on your widgets. Quickbar – the default Google search bar on steroids – also got a refresh, now allowing you to use the new multicolored Google logo, as well as the old white one. The launcher now supports the dynamic calendar API, allowing third-party calendar apps to show a unique icon for each day of the month, which can give you a quick glimpse on what day is today just by looking at the icon. The app also has 12 different transition effects for when you switch screens and is now available in more than a dozen languages.

Action Launcher 3 is available in the Play Store for free, but if you want the full set of features, you have to get the Pro version, which costs $4.99. With the paid version, you get some neat stuff, like Shutter, that allows you to open an app’s widget by just swiping its icon instead of tapping. With that, the app widget will load on the foreground and you can have a quick preview of your e-mail, WhatsApp or whatsoever. Check out the app in the source link below.
