Amazon's Fire Tablet Being sold in 6-Packs for $250

This morning, Amazon took the wraps off of the much rumored $50 tablet. Well it’s actually under $50, coming in at $49.99. Now we all know, Amazon prices their hardware so it’ll move. As they use their tablets as a door into their store, whether it be with Amazon Prime Instant Video, Amazon Prime Music, or just buying items from their website. They want you to spend more. The Amazon Fire Tablet is a cheap tablet, that will accomplish just that. This $50 tablet is going to be a pretty popular item come this holiday season. Which is great for Amazon’s hardware division after suffering a huge loss with the Fire Phone in the past year.

Not only are they selling a $50 tablet, but they are selling this tablet in six-packs that will cost you $250. That’s pretty crazy, but also pretty cool. Now everyone in the family can have their own tablet. Without needing to share. Or just simply have one in every room of the house. You can get six of these Fire Tablets for a little more than the price of the 10-inch Fire HD that was announced today. The Fire Tablet is a 7-inch tablet with a quad-core 1.3GHz processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage. However it does also have a microSD card slot, so you can add in another 128GB of space, which conveniently, you can buy those microSD cards from Amazon. See their plan now? Amazon isn’t saying what the resolution is here on the Fire Tablet, or what the processor is. But we can guess it’s a MediaTek processor, as was rumored.

Of course, as you’d expect, the new Fire Tablet comes with MayDay, X-Ray, ASAP and FreeTime for Kids. Making this still a great tablet for kids. However, they did lower the price of their Fire HD Kids Edition today. So it’s now coming in at $99.99, making it a great value for kids, especially with that huge bumper case that is said to be “kid-proof”. Some great announcements from Amazon today. It’ll be interesting to see if this makes up for the Fire Phone debacle from last year.
