Xiaomi has released a number of smartphones this year, along with some variants of smart TVs, and some other smart gadgets. Xiaomi is currently China’s number one smarthphone manufacturer, and is trading places with Huawei on a regular basis. This Chinese smartphone OEM has released a lot of devices this year, but they’re nowhere near done with announcements, the company is expected to introduce their 2015 flagship later this year, the Xiaomi Mi 5, along with the 2nd-gen Mi Pad tablet. Speaking of announcements, Xiaomi has confirmed that the Mi 4C smartphone is on its way, and judging by the company’s latest teasers, that smartphone will land on September 22nd. That being said, let’s see what will it have to offer.

Xiaomi’s co-founder has already confirmed that this smartphone will ship with both Type-C USB 3.0 and MicroUSB 2.0 connectors, while he also mentioned that the device will be manufactured in only 100,000 copies. This means that the Xiaomi Mi 4C will essentially be a limited edition device. According to a number of rumors thus far, the device will launch in at least two variants, but the latest report suggests that we’ll see three different models announce. The first, and most affordable, model will ship with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The second Mi 4C variant will sport 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, and the most expensive model will feature 3GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage.

The Xiaomi Mi 4C will look almost identical to the Xiaomi Mi 4i which was announced earlier this year in India. This device is rumored to sport infrared port as well, and it will be fueled by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 808 64-bit hexa-core processor. The 13-megapixel camera will be located on the back of the Mi 4C, and a 5-megapixel snapper will probably be available up front. Android 5.1.1 Lollipop will come pre-installed on this smartphone, and Xiaomi’s MIUI 7 OS will be available on top of Google’s operating system, as usual. The 3,080mAh battery was also mentioned in previously leaked benchmarks, and you can expect this device to be available in a range of color options, as pictured in the gallery down below.

Speaking of the gallery, if you take a look at it, you’ll see the recently leaked Xiaomi Mi 4C handsets, along with the alleged retail packaging of Xiaomi’s newest smartphone. That is more or less it as far as leaks, rumors and official confirmations go. Xiaomi will almost certainly introduce this device on their event in China on September 22nd, until then, stay tuned for more leaked info.

UPDATE: Snapdragon 808, dual 4G connectivity, double-tap-to-wake feature and new retail packaging have also been confirmed by Xiaomi’s co-founders.
