Sony is using the upcoming James Bond movie, Spectre, to promote some of their products. Some phones from the Xperia Z5 lineup are expected to make an appearance as some of the stars and the secret agent himself will be using them throughout the film. We’ve already seen the Xperia Z5 marketed as a phone “Made for Bond” and Sony has created a short film starring the character Moneypenny to highlight some of the phones capabilities. While it makes sense for Sony to promote their products in Columbia films, as they own the studio, it seems that they won’t be the only ones who will use this film to promote a product.
Since Android Pay launched last week in the US in more than one million different stores, Google is now offering a trip to the premiere of Spectre on November 6th in Mexico City. Most people will question the decision of making the premiere in that particular city, but let’s remember that some scenes were filmed there. The prize is for one lucky user plus three friends and all of them will receive a VIP treatment including air travel, hotel accommodations, car rental and food expenses for two nights. To make it even more glamorous, each person will get their own personal stylist and $1,000 to shop around. They will also get a $250 gift card pre-loaded on their Android Pay apps plus new Android devices with some Bond movies from Google Play. The value of the total prize package is around $25,000.
To have a chance of winning this prize, users just need to download and use Android Pay between September 28 and October 15. Each day they use the service earns them an entry, so there’s a maximum number of entries is 18. Users can identify if a store has an NFC terminal compatible with Android Pay with some icons. The winner will be selected randomly and the name will be announced on October 19. The promotion is valid for US residents only that are 18 years or older and have a valid passport.
