AT&T Now Offering New Garmin/BASIS Wearables In Store

With the rise in wearables like activity trackers and smartwatches, and with the companionship they have with smartphones, it shouldn’t be surprising to see many of the carriers begin to start selling a variation of different wearable options. As of this morning AT&T has announced that they are set to add three new wearable devices to their existing lineup on offer, which includes two devices from Garmin as well as one device from BASIS. All of these devices will be available to consumers/subscribers of AT&T starting on September 25th, which is today, and will be available online as well as in AT&T retail stores.

Kicking things off is the BASIS Peak, an activity tracker geared towards those who want something that can easily transition from every day activities to a more intense set, like exercise. The BASIS Peak is water resistant up to 50 meters, and it tracks your heart rate, motion, skin temp, and perspiration levels. It also tracks sleep quality and duration, and is available in white for $199. The next two devices being offered out of the three new trackers are both from Garmin, and include the Garmin Vivoactive, and the Garmin Vivofit 2. The Vivoactive costs $249, and aside from being able to track things like runs, cycling, walks and more, it’s waterproof, and has GPS built in so you can track your routes. This is also a smartwatch and has the ability to pair with your smartphone, allowing notification for things like calls, texts, emails, social media and more.

Lastly, AT&T is now selling the Vivofit 2, also from Garmin, but costing only a fraction of the price of the Vivoactive. Coming in at only $99, consumers who pick up the Vivofit 2 will be able to track their stats like steps taken and calories burned, and it’s also water resistant up to 50 meters so it can be worn in the shower and withstand a little sweat or rain. You can use it to track sleep quality too, and the backlit display shows everything to the user making it easy to glance at your tracked stats without having to pull out your phone and open the companion app. Both the Garmin devices are available at AT&T retail locations nationwide and online, while the BASIS Peak is only available online and at select AT&T locations.
