Aukey Unveil Their Quick Charge 3.0 Turbo Wall Charger

It was a little more than a week ago when Qualcomm announced the introduction of their latest generation Quick Charge technology. This was Quick Charge 3.0. In term of the numbers, Qualcomm detailed that Quick Charge 3.0 is designed to be four times faster than normal charging. This works out to be twice as fast as Quick Charge 1.0 and 38-percent more efficient than Quick Charge 2.0. As a result, Quick Charge 3.0 will be a highly in demand feature going forward.

As well as the introduction of the technology, Qualcomm also announced that Quick Charge 3.0 will come in a number of their latest processors including the Snapdragon 430, 617, 628, 620 and of course, their next generation flagship processor, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820. This means that a number of the smartphones that are set to come out in the next year will be compatible with Quick Charge 3.0. However, compatibility is only one side of the coin and as well as containing the relevant technology, to take advantage of Quick Charge 3.0, device owners will also need to have a charger that can deliver the charge to the device. Aukey are known for their extensive and wide range of charging solutions and are now one of the first companies to announce their first Quick Charge 3.0 charger.

The first Aukey product that will contain the technology will be their USB Fast Charging Wall Socket. This one follows on from their Quick Charge 2.0 version and adopts a similar design to the previous version. Although, with Quick Charge 3.0 tech inside. Keeping with Qualcomm’s announcement, Aukey confirm that their Quick Charge 3.0 Charger will be able to charge devices by up to 80% in about 35 minutes.

That said, Aukey’s Quick Charge 3.0 will not just be for the latest and greatest devices which comes porting one of the Quick Charge 3.0 compatible processors, as it is also backward compatible with Quick Charge 2.0 devices. This means the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, Galaxy Note 4, Google’s Nexus 6, HTC One M8 and One M9, the new Moto X (2015) and some of the Xperia Z3 and Z4 series will all be able to take advantage of faster charging. Of course, not to the level which can be expected from Quick Charge 3.0 enabled devices, but thanks to the Intelligent Negotiation for Optimum Voltage (INOV) which is used by Quick Charge 3.0, devices will be able to request the power they wish to receive and the Aukey charger will be able to deliver the requested levels of power. Resulting in the quickest charge possible for the device. Of course as this is an Aukey product, you can expect all the usual safety procedures to be in place to ensure you charge safely as well as quickly. These include protection against over-current, overcharging and overheating.

In terms of the availability, the Aukey Quick Charge 3.0 Turbo Wall Charger is due to become available to buy in the next couple of weeks. Aukey have already sent us over one to check out which you can see in the images below as well as a few of their own images confirming their voltage that the charger is capable of delivering.
