Back in April, Letv has showcased three new Android-powered handsets, the Le 1, Le 1 Pro and Le Max. These three devices are really compelling offerings by this China-based company, and what’s even more interesting, these are the first handsets this company has ever released. Letv is a well-known brand in China, but very few people heard of them outside of that Asian country, at least until these three devices launched. That being said, the company has managed to sell 1 million Le Superphones (that’s what the company is calling them) in less than 3 months, which is a really great result for Letv considering these are their first handsets.
That being said, this Chinese smartphone OEM has decided to tease their upcoming device last month when they released an image of a phone with the ‘820’ number on its display. This was obviously Letv’s way to tease their Snapdragon 820-powered smartphone. We didn’t stumble upon any info regarding that device ever since Letv released the teaser, well, until now. If you take a look at the provided image, you’ll get to see the alleged back cover of the upcoming Letv flagship. The rumor says that this smartphone might also sport glass on both its front and back, so you might find a layer of glass on top of the metal we get to see here. As you can see, there are quite a few cutouts on the showcased metal, the upper ones are there for the camera, LED flash and quite probably the noise cancelling microphone, while the one down below is there to make way for the fingerprint scanner.
We still don’t have any specification info when it comes to this smartphone, though we do expect future leaks to share that info as well. This smartphone won’t launch before Q1 2016 because the Snapdragon 820 won’t be available before then. If we had to guess, we’d say that the Snapdragon 820 will be joined with 4GB of RAM, metal build and perhaps a QHD display. You can also expect a 20+MP camera on the back of this handset, and Letv might opt to release more than one variant of the device, like they did with ‘Le Superphones’. Either way, stay tuned for more info.
