BLU might not always be the first name that comes to your head or pass through your lips when thinking about your next smartphone. However, the company very much looks set to at least establish themselves as a viable contender for your next smartphone with the launch of their upcoming BLU Pure XL. This is the latest smartphone from BLU which seems to have been unveiled on their site today and comes boasting some extremely good specs, for what seems to be a very good and competitive price-point
In fact, the price is said to be $349.99 at launch and as such, will likely place the BLU Pure XL very much in the same price camp as the likes of the OnePlus 2 and the Moto X. Although, the specs on offer seem to be making a push for a much higher smartphone comparison bracket. In terms of the specs, the BLU Pure XL comes equipped with a 6-inch display with a 2560 x 1440 resolution. Inside, the BLU Pure XL comes touting 3GB RAM and powered by a 64-bit MediaTek Helio X10 octa-core processor (clocking at 2.0 GHz). Storage is set at 64GB internally as standard and it would seem there is also the option to expand on the storage thanks to the inclusion of a microSD card slot. Moving to the cameras and the BLU Pure XL comes boasting a 24-megapixel rear camera (with OIS and f/2.0 aperture) and this is coupled with an 8-megapixel front facing camera. Additional features on offer, include 4G LTE connectivity (which was one of the issues noted with last year’s BLU Life Pure XL) as well as a fingerprint scanner and a decent enough 3,500 mAh battery. Last but not least, the device comes running on Android 5.1 out of the box.
According to the information the BLU Pure XL will be available exclusively on Amazon and will come unlocked at the point of sale, for the already mentioned $350 price tag. As such, this is likely to be a smartphone to watch out for. There is no firm details on availability as yet, although, it is being said the device will become available from September 29th. Interestingly, the same day as the next HTC device(s) and reportedly also the next Nexus devices.
