ES File Explorer With Material Design Update Now Available

There can be little arguing with whether or not ES File Explorer is one of the most popular file manager apps. It simply is, and tends to always appear on top file manager app lists. This is not too surprising as anyone who uses the services will vouch for how good it is as a file manager. In fact, it is not just on smartphones or tablets that ES File Explorer runs well, as it is also one of (if not the) best File Manager apps for Android TV devices. That is, in a native state and one which has been optimized for Android TV. In fact, it is that level of integration and ease-of-use that keeps the app installed on so many devices.

Well, one update which has taken its time in coming to ES File Explorer is the commonly referred to ‘Material Design’ update. As most will know, this sort of update brings with it a whole bunch of more aesthetically pleasing screens and ones which provide the user with a far more increased Android 5.x (Lollipop) look and feel. Going back about a month and at the start of August, reports were coming through that ES File Explorer had begun its update to its new Material Design interface, although at the time, this was said to be in a closed beta version of the newly updated app.

Well, it now looks like the time has come as ES File Explorer has been updated on the Play Store and this update is the one which brings the redesigned Material Design interface along with it. The update boosts ES File Explorer up to version 4.0.2 and brings with it a much more attractive design. Including a step away from the darker look of the older app and a much brighter and lighter looking menu as you can see in the images below. There are a number of more functional design changes too, like the removal of the bottom positioned menu. If you haven’t seen the update already land for your version of ES File Explorer, then it is now available via the Play Store and through the link below.
