Samsung’s current-gen Galaxy S flagships have been launched 6 months ago, and we’ve been seeing the Galaxy S7 rumors for quite some time now. The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge handsets are the company’s flagships smartphones for this year, and Samsung has also unveiled the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus last month, their 2015 flagship phablets. Previous rumors hinted that Galaxy S7 might arrive sooner than expected (before the end of the year), but that is highly unlikely. The company will almost certainly unveil their new flagship(s) in February or March next year.
Let’s step away from leaks and rumors for a moment, and take a look at the newly released Galaxy S7 Edge concept. The source envisioned Samsung’s new flagship smartphone in a YouTube video you can check below this article. In this designer’s eyes, the Galaxy S7 Edge actually resembles the S6 Edge quite a lot as far as general design is concerned, but there are some changes, of course. The phone looks really sleek in the video, its volume rocker buttons are located on the left-hand side of the phone, and the power button can be found on the right. The SIM tray is placed up top, and the Type-C USB 3.0 port is available on the bottom of the phone, where you’ll also find the 3.5mm headphone jack.
The designer has also attached some specifications to this vision of his. His Galaxy S7 Edge concept sports a QHD Super AMOLED display, 4GB of RAM and a protruding 21-megapixel rear-facing camera below which you’ll find a dual-LED, dual tone flash. The 8-megapixel camera is located up front, and the device is powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 820 processor which will become available in Q1 next year. Truth be said, this concept looks really sleek, as do many other concepts we’ve seen this year. Unlike some other concepts, this actually looks kind of realistic when you think about it, the device is quite similar to the Galaxy S6 Edge, with a few solid additions to its design, and of course, specifications. We probably won’t see Galaxy S7 Edge announced for another 5 or 6 months, but it will be interesting to see if it will resemble this concept.
