By now, you probably noticed the change in the classic Google logo on their website and some apps like Google Maps or Google Translate, the Googleplex is also changing all of their logos to match the new vision of the company. The new logo uses brighter colors and less curves, and there are some elements like the microphone or the G from Google that became more colorful, it even became animated as it is now displayed on screens of different shapes and sizes. More apps will be updated with this new logo in a near future and today is the turn of Google Now.
Google Now is one of the most useful features and it is getting better with each update. Some third party apps are now able to send notifications to Google Now so the information is seen in an easier way from the app or the widget in the home screen. The updated look includes the colorful new logo which is now separated from the search bar as well as the menu button which is now placed on the top left corner. The new logo can also be found in the search bar on the home screens and while swiping the home button to open the app. The icon of the app itself now features the colorful G.
The search bar in the app now features a cleaner look and there’s the colorful new microphone icon for voice search. Speaking of which, while searching by voice, the four dots from the logo make an appearance with their respective animation. The background image is also gone, but it probably is just to highlight the new logo and will come back in a future release. The cards look cleaner too, as the color bar in the top is now white as the rest of the card and only contains the icon of the site that it comes from and the time of the last update, the background is also a lighter shade of grey. The animation while swiping away the cards has changed a little and it is now more noticeable. Finally, there’s a new way of organizing the cards into categories like Weather, Upcoming Events and News Stories, which could be a little easier to use. The update should appear shortly in the Play Store.
