Hands On: ZTE AXON Elite

ZTE recently announced a new smartphone brand that they are using globally, and it’s AXON. Here in the US and over in China we have the AXON Pro, which I am working on a full review of right now, and early thoughts are quite good on the phone. The AXON Elite are quite similar. While ZTE have dropped the RAM from 4GB to 3GB, the resolution on the 5.5-inch display was also dropped to 1080p from QHD. However we’re still looking at a Snapdragon 810 here with a 3000mAh battery and 32GB of storage inside. It’s one of the most premium smartphones to come out of ZTE ever. And it’s pretty exciting.

One of the cool features that the AXON Elite has over the AXON Pro that’s here in the US, is the biometric authentication options. Not only do we have a fingerprint reader which you can see on the back, but we also have the ability to unlock the device via voice control, and by scanning your eyes. ZTE actually demoed the eye-scan at MWC earlier in the year.

We got some hands on time with the new ZTE AXON Elite in Berlin today. Let’s have a look at this beauty.
