Samsung has unveiled SmartThings Smart Hub 2.0 and SleepSense earlier today at IFA in Berlin, along with some other products. The IFA attendees will have a chance to tinker with the recently announced Gear S2 smartwatch, and Samsung is of course showcasing a number of their previously-released devices as well. One such device is the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2, well, two devices actually, the 8.0 and 9.7-inch variants. We’ve decided to spend some time with the two devices at IFA in Berlin, and are here to share some hands-on images with you.
If you take a look at the gallery down below you’ll be able to see both the Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 and 9.7 in the flesh. These two devices are very similar in terms of specs, but they’re quite different as far as general look and feel go due to significantly different screen sizes. Both of these devices feel quite premium in the hand, though that was to be expected. Both of these devices sport 2048 x 1536 Super AMOLED displays, but they’re different in size (and thus PPI), as their name suggests. The two devices are powered by Samsung’s Exynos 5433 octa-core SoC along with a Mali T760 MP6 GPU for graphics rendering. The two devices feature 3GB of RAM and are available in 32 and 64GB variants (internal storage).
The 8-megapixel camera is included on the back of both the Galaxy Tab S2 tablets, and a 2.1-megapixel snapper can be found up front. The fingerprint scanner is also a part of this package, and same can be said about the non-removable 4,000mAh battery. The smaller, 8-inch, variant of the Galaxy Tab S2 measures 198.6 x 134.8 x 5.6mm, while the bigger variants comes in at 237.3 x 169 x 5.6mm. Android 5.0.2 Lollipop comes pre-installed on these two tablets, and Samsung’s TouchWiz UI is available on top of Google’s operating system.
