HiSense is a Chinese company which has been around for a long time now. This company was founded back in 1969, but we haven’t heard much from them lately. Well, HiSense is one of the China-based company which are participating at this year’s IFA in Berlin, and the company has announced a really, really interesting tablet at the show. We tend to see lots of tablets introduced throughout the year, many of which looks rather similar, well, this one might get your attention primarily due to its design.
The HiSense Magic Mirror is the newest tablet released by this company. As you can see in the provided images, this tablet has extremely thin bezels. This tablet sports an 8.4-inch 2560 x 1600 laminated display, which comes down to 360ppi. The tablet is powered by Rockchip RK3288 SoC, and it packs 2GB of RAM on the inside, along with 16 or 32GB of internal storage. Dolby Audio is also a part of this package, and this tablet is actually a record-breaker as far as screen-to-body ratio goes (90%), which is easy to notice if you look at its display. The tablet weighs 280 grams, and its bezels around the display (except on the bottom) are 2.7mm thick. The tablet is made out of metal, and it look really premium. The 4,580mAh battery is also a part of this package, and Android 5.0 Lollipop comes pre-installed on this tablet. The HiSense Magic Mirror measures 199 x 121 x 7.1mm, which makes it really thin overall.
Interesting enough, this tablet is already available in China it seems. The tablet is listed for sale in China on JingDong Mall, one of China’s biggest retailers. The tablet (16GB variant) is priced at 1,799 Yuan in China, which translates to $283. This is not a high-end tablet by any stretch of the imagination, you can notice that by looking at its specs, but it is one of the most unique tablets available out there because of its design. HiSense did a really great job designing this tablet, and it looks rather premium. The questions is, is it worth $283 considering the specs it packs in?
