Lenovo has announced yet another great new smartphone at IFA – the new mid-level VIBE P1m with an eye toward long battery life and people on the go. It starts with a large 4,000 mAh battery and then includes Lenovo’s Quick Charge function that can fully recharge the battery in just 2 hours and 40 minutes or with only 15 minutes of charging time that can give you up to 2.45 hours of talk-time. Add to that their “OneKey Power Saver” that can provide users up to twice the regular battery life merely by flipping one switch. The VIBE P1m even offers OTG charging support so you can conveniently charge your USB accessories on the go – BT earbuds, etc.
The new Lenovo VIBE P1m dual-SIM smartphone starts with a 5-inch IPS LCD HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Inside we have a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz, backed up with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage that can easily be increased by 32GB via a microSD card slot. All of this is running the newest Android 5.1 Lollipop and is powered by a large 4,000 mAh non-removable battery. The main camera is packing an 8MP sensor with autofocus and a dual-tone LED flash. For social media selfies and video chatting, a very generous 5MP front-facing camera (FFC) is included. It comes with the usual suspects – Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.1 LE and GPS connectivity.
The VIBE P1m also has a few more niceties added in, such as an advanced nano coating by P2i for added protection so you do not have to worry about an accidental spill or splash. You can’t go swimming or take a shower with it, but caught in a rain storm or spilling a drink on it will not damage your VIBE P1m. Lenovo also includes its “DOit apps” – SHAREit, CLONEit, and SYNCit – that allow users to do more with their devices. The VIBE P1m has a full aluminum frame with a Gorilla Glass display and back. It measures 141 x 71.8 x 9.3 mm and weighs in at 148 grams. It comes in Onyx Black and Pearl White and the pricing starts at $159. Lenovo has no plans at the moment to bring the VIBE P1m to North America.
