LG Class Is Now Official, 5" Display & Metal Body In Tow

LG has started teasing a mysterious smartphone launch for September 21st recently. The company has even shared a partial image of the device a couple of days ago, and it was also confirmed that this smartphone will launch in Korea only. Well, today is September 21st and LG has unveiled their new smartphones. As it turns out, the LG Class is a mid-range smartphone, not a high-end device some people were hoping it would be. Anyhow, let’s see what this handset has to offer, shall we.

The LG Class sports a 5-inch 720 (1280 x 720) IPS display along with 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage (expandable up to a whopping 2TB via microSD card). The device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 410 64-bit quad-core SoC running at 1.2GHz along with an Adreno 306 GPU for graphics. The 13-megapixel shooter is available on the back of this smartphone, and an 8-megapixel camera can be found up front. The 2,050mAh battery is available on the inside, and this smartphone will ship with 4G LTE connectivity support. Andriod Lollipop comes pre-installed on this smartphone, while the device measures 142 x 71.8 x 7.4mm, and weighs 147 grams.

It is also worth mentioning that this smartphone is made out of metal, and that it has a 2.5D curved glass on top of its display. The physical buttons are located on the back of the device, which is completely normal (and expected) for LG’s devices. The phone’s speaker is placed next to the camera sensor, which seems a bit odd, but there you have it. That speaker, which you can see in the images down below, is actually quite powerful, it has 1W (watt) output, and LG also said that it produces ‘clear sound’. The device also comes equipped with all sorts of software features as part of LG’s software offering. You’ll get a number of camera features for example, like Beauty Shot, Gesture Interval Shot, etc.

The LG Class is available starting today via a number of Korean carriers starting today. This smartphone is priced at 399,300 won ($340), and it comes in Blue Black, Silver and Gold color options. We’re still not sure if this smartphone will launch elsewhere, but we highly doubt it. Prior to its launch, LG has confirmed that this is Korea-only device, if something changes though, we’ll let you know.
