Tomorrow, we should know everything there is to know about the new Nexus 5X as well as its larger brother the Nexus 6P. But today, we’re learning from the sources of Android Police, that the Nexus 5X pre-orders are going to start tomorrow, and the device will cost $379. Now, unlike the Nexus 6P, we aren’t sure what storage sizes we are getting here. With the Nexus 6P, we have a 32GB, 64GB and 128GB model available. The Nexus 5X is likely going to be 16GB and 32GB models, as this appears to be the smaller and cheaper model. The $379 price tag is likely for the base model, which sadly, might be 16GB. But we’ll cross our fingers and hope it’s a 32GB model.
So we know the price, we also know when pre-orders will start. We also know that the Nexus 5X will be exclusively sold online. But what about the launch countries? Well according to Android Police’s sources it appears that the launch countries are Ireland, Japan, Korea, UK and the US. It’s a bit weird to see Canada missing from this list, but that’s not the first time. And this could be true, it also might not be. We’ll be taking this with a grain of salt at least until Google makes the announcement tomorrow morning.
The Nexus 5X from LG and Google will be available in Carbon, Quartz, and Ice Blue colors. The Ice Blue looks really nice, according to the leaks, and it’s even nicer to have some colors to the phones available here. The Nexus 5X is rumored to come with a 5.2-inch 1920×1080 resolution display, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 808 processor along with 3GB of RAM. And at $379, that’s a pretty decent smartphone there. Especially since it will work on all four carriers, not to mention it will also have support for Project Fi and WiFi calling. So if you depend on WiFi calling on T-Mobile’s network, you’ll have it built into your shiny new Nexus 5X. LG and Google have also added a fingerprint reader on the back, seeing as Marshmallow brings official support for fingerprint readers, this isn’t too surprising.
