Motorola Moto X Play is one of the three Moto-branded smartphones Motorola has released at the end of July. This is the mid-range model, and it was released alongside the entry-level Moto G (2015), and the Moto X Style / Pure. The Moto X Play is a very capable mid-range smartphone, and we’ve already talked about it at length. If you’d like to get more info regarding this smartphone before reading through this article, visit our Moto X Play page. That being said, Motorola has teased the arrival of the Moto X Play to India yesterday, but they haven’t revealed the time of the arrival, until now that is.
The company has now officially sent out invitations for the event to tech media in India. The event will be held on September 14th in New Delhi, and Motorola’s teaser image clearly reveals that the Moto X Play will be announced at the event. Judging by the image, that is the only device Motorola will showcase. The new teaser image contains the very same caption the previous one did: ”A better mobile relationship is when you and your partner can spend the nights talking without realizing the time passing by.” That being said, let’s check out this device’s specs, because chances are they’ll be identical in both the international and this Indian model.
The Moto X Play sports a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display with Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 on top of it. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core SoC fuels this phone along with an Adreno 405 GPU for graphics. This phone ships with 2GB of RAM and 16 or 32GB of expandable internal storage (we’re still not sure if both variants will be available in India)., and a 3,630mAh battery is also a part of this package. The 21-megapixel camera is located on the back of this device, and below it you’ll find the dual-LED dual tone flash. The 5-megapixel snapper can be found up front, and this phone also offers 4G LTE connectivity, in case you were wondering. Android 5.1.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed here with a couple of apps added by Motorola, but it’s mostly a stock build of Android.
