Need For Speed has been one of the most loved racing video game franchises over the past couple of decades ever since the very first title in the series was launched back in 1994. It has been wildly successful on pretty much every single platform the game has ever been released on, including Windows, OS X, PlayStation, Nintendo, Xbox, Windows Phone, iOS and of course, Android. Now, a new installment of the popular gaming franchise is about to be released, and even though the game isn’t available for download just as yet, the publisher, Electronic Arts, is accepting pre-registrations for the game on the Google Play Store.
Coming to the game itself, the new version is called ‘Need for Speed: No Limits’, and was announced by EA earlier this year. The game is expected to feature the same thrills and spills of its predecessors, with added gameplay modes and as many as 250 million different customization options. Also, licensed body kits from Rocket Bunny, Mad Mike and Vaughn Gittin Jr. will be made available, according to reports. Need for Speed: No Limits will follow the ‘Freemium’ model, meaning, while the game will technically be free to download and play, there will be optional in-game purchases to access a lot of the new features available. While casual gamers will be able to get by with the free version, those wanting to speed things up will be able to purchase items to help that process along.
According to the listing on the Play Store, players can “Collect real-world cars and use the most advanced customization system on mobile to build your dream machine and dominate the competition”. You’ll also be able to “Slam your car into gear, hit the nitrous, and drift your way through rush-hour traffic to leave rival racers in the dust”. EA also invites you to “Prove your worth by defeating the toughest crews in Time Trial, Car Delivery, and Duel modes”. Now while there’s no official word as to when the game will finally launch for global public consumption, the trailers launched thus far has looked fairly promising. However, only time will tell whether the new game will be as successful as the previous ones in the franchise.
