Samsung has already released four premium handsets this year. The company has introduced their Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge flagship smartphones back in March, while the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus phablets followed last month. That being said, we’re already seeing Galaxy S7 rumors popping up all over the internet, we’ve been seeing those for quite some time now actually. A particular rumor that surfaced a couple of weeks back even mentioned that the device might launch before the end of the year, but that’s highly unlikely. Well, a new report surfaced on SamMobile, and it seems like it brings some new Galaxy S7 news our way, read on.
According to the source, the Galaxy S7 will arrive in two variants, similar to its predecessor. The report claims that the SM-G930 is the Galaxy S7, and the SM-G935 Galaxy S7 Edge, though they’re still not sure the latter will be called that, but it probably will. SamMobile also says that they received confirmation that the two variants will reach Canada, China, Europe, Korea, and the US. These two devices will be available in Canada via Bell Mobility, and in Korea through KT, LG Uplus and SKTelecom. These phones will be available in the US via the following carriers: AIO Wireless, AT&T, MetroPCS, Sprint, T-Mobile, US Cellular, and Verizon.
On top of all this, it’s worth mentioning that the Galaxy S7 carries the ‘Project Lucky’ codename internally, and the company is also referring to these two phones as ‘Hero’ and ‘Hero2’. Based on the previous info, these two phones will be available in two variants, one will be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 8890 SoC, and the other one will sport Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 processor. Another (expected) piece of info released here, is the fact that both these phones will feature UFS 2.0 storage, which is already a part of the Galaxy S6 / S6 Edge. The source also claims that the Galaxy S7 devices will ship with microSD card slot as well, which are great news for those of you who want to expand up the device’s internal storage. As far as camera details go, well, we still don’t have the details, Samsung is allegedly testing dual camera setups though, but who knows what will happen in the end.
