In spite of all its recent issues with its moderators, Reddit is a force to be reckoned with on the internet and is used by a massive number of users every day. That said, it is no secret that in spite of its massive user base and numbers, there is no official Reddit app. There is of course, plenty of options when it comes to unofficial Reddit apps which offer the ability to monitor and manage your feeds and so on, but nothing by way of an official app. However, that is set to change in the near(ish) future.
This is because, it is also no secret that a Reddit app is very much in the works and has been sort of announced for quite some time. In fact, every so often, another update comes through which firstly reminds everyone that the app is en route and secondly, provides itself as an update to how the process is going. The last one of these app updates came through at the start of August and simply made a note that the app was getting closer.
Well, if the latest news is anything to go by, then it does certainly seem to be getting close as a new update seems to have come through yesterday. However, unlike the previous updates this one provides us with much more than a simply “it’s coming” and instead there was an actual screenshot to work with. In terms of the screenshot, the image does not provide too much details on the app and what to expect and especially as it only one shot. That said, it does provide a little insight into how certain pages will be laid out and it’s use of Material Design. For those who are not liking the design so much, then it is worth keeping in mind that this is a work in progress and one which does seem to be fully still in development. As such, issues and kinks like this, presumably will be ironed out in due course. For now though, if you have been waiting on a Reddit app, then now is your chance to take a quick peek at what it will likely look like.
