Oxygen OS 2.1 OTA This Week With Fixes & Camera Improvements

If you are a OnePlus device owner, then depending on your preference, chances are you are running either Cyanogen OS 12 or Oxygen OS. While the former is more feature heavy and others a lot of notable aspects, the latter offers users a lot more closer to stock experience. If you are someone who has opted for Oxygen OS on their OnePlus device, then you might want to know that the company has this morning announced the next OTA update.

The update will bring your device up to Oxygen OS v2.1.0 and according to the announcement post is a “sizable update“. According to the update, this one looks to address a number of issues that you might have found with the previous version. Some of the features noted include upgrades for the camera including the addition of manual mode and Raw support for third party camera apps. Likewise, the details note that other issues with third party apps have also been fixed (although specifics were not provided). There also seems to be some service aspects improved for the telephone feature so that there is no longer a “lag when you turn on/off airplane mode“. The only other notable updated aspects mentioned include the adding of Exchange support and a new “color balance slider” for adjusting the tone of your device’s display.

As such, much of the update looks to be a bug fixing and improvement update, albeit, one for bigger bug fixes and improvements than might normally be seen. Which will likely be good news for anyone who has experienced any of the issues mentioned above. In terms of the update arriving, the blog post does detail that some users are already beginning to see the update arrive. However, this seems to be a small testing number of users with OnePlus detailing if all goes well, then a more broader roll out of the update will begin starting from tomorrow. As always, this does not mean that it will be guaranteed to land on your device tomorrow, although, if you are a OnePlus device owner and running Oxygen OS, then the update should be landing for you sometime this week.
