Samsung Post How To Videos for the Gear S2

When Samsung announced the Gear S2, it was clear that the company had thrown out what had come before with the original Gear S and the Gear 2 line of products. Starting afresh with much of a watch-like design and a fully-circular display, the Gear S2 is another example that Samsung know how to design and create great hardware. We managed to go hands-on with the fancy new smartwatch during IFA 2015, and we found that it was one of the best-looking smartwatches Samsung had ever created. More interesting than what’s on the outside however, is the new user interface that Samsung has been working on for some time. Rather than running Android Wear like LG’s smartwatches, or the likes of the Moto 360, Samsung have reworked their Tizen-based operating system for the new Gear S2.

While Samsung’s Gear S2 won’t be available for a little while yet, the company isn’t wasting any time and has put together five different videos on how to use it. These videos range from how to operate the watch itself to even sending photos and files and back and forth between your smartphone and watch. Each one of the videos is about five minutes long and while these won’t be all that entertaining for those not planning on the buying the watch, it does give us a quick look at how the interface looks and behaves. The UI here is one aspect where Samsung is hoping to bring some users round to their new smartwatch, as the bezel around the display rotates to change things on the display, similarly to how the digital crown works on an Apple Watch.

The new videos can be found below, and for those more interested in Android Wear devices, they can read our review of the new Huawei Watch, and there might even be some news during today’s Nexus announcement. It does seem like Samsung is treating the Gear S2 as more of a smaller smartwatch what with instructions on how to save power and there’s even a dedicated task switcher built-in. Still, the below videos will be helpful for those wanting to know more or those who are planning on purchasing one.
