Samsung Teases Galaxy View, Likely The Rumored 18.4" Tablet

When it comes to Samsung, there is rarely a day that passes that does not include some speculation or rumors. While most of the recent rumors have circulated around the recently launched Galaxy Note 5, the Galaxy S6 Edge+ and their even more recently announced Gear S2 smartwatch, there has also been rumors floating regarding a new Samsung tablet that is expected to be in the works.

Now, the notion of Samsung releasing a new tablet is not exactly a revelation, as the South Korean company is one of the most prolific Android tablet manufacturers around. However, what has been gaining traction with this specific rumor, is that this is no ordinary tablet. In fact, if anything, this is a super-sized tablet and one which comes with a massive 18.4-inch display. For those wondering what specs you might get on an 18.4-inch tablet, then it is rumored the tablet (which is currently codenamed Tahoe) comes sporting 2GB RAM and powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 7580 octa core processor. That is along with 32GB internal storage, a microSD card slot and a 5,700 mAh battery.

Well, just like at the Unpacked event last month in which Samsung took the opportunity to tease the Gear S2, Samsung has taken today’s event as an opportunity to tease another product. One which is presumed to be the reported 18.4-inch tablet. The latest teasing revolves around what is dubbed the ‘Samsung Galaxy View’ and from the select images that are emerging, it clearly seems to be a big tablet. Size aside, Samsung did not reveal much more about the device, although they were reported to be stating more details will become available in October. Whether that means the launch will also be in October, is anyone’s guess.

That said, the images were a little revealing in themselves and do show that the tablet seems to have a stand built-in which lets the tablet stand up more naturally like a monitor. As such, this could be the angel the company is hoping to take with the super-sized screen. That is of course, if the Samsung Galaxy View is definitely the 18.4-inch tablet and not something else entirely.
