Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is one of the two Samsung-branded phablets the company has released last month. Samsung has showcased the two devices in New York, and has opted for a rather strange release of these handsets. Well, the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will more or less be available everywhere, but that’s not the case with the Note 5, at least not initially. The Note 5 didn’t launch in Europe yet, while it did in some other regions. We’ve seen reports and leaks stating that the Note 5 might launch in Europe before the end of the year, but we’ll see.
That being said, the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus has already launched in India, quite recently actually, and it seems like the Galaxy Note 5 will follow soon. Samsung India has released a teaser image on their official Facebook page, a teaser which is quite obviously about the Galaxy Note 5. The company did not reveal the release date just yet, but according to a report from GSM Arena, this Korea-based company will announce the device on September 7th. The Galaxy S6 Edge Plus is priced at Rs. 57,900 ($874) in India, which is more than a premium price point for this phablet. It remains to be seen how much will the Note 5 cost, but if we had to guess, it’ll be really expensive, just like its sibling.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 features a 5.7-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) Super AMOLED display along with 4GB of RAM and 32 or 64GB of internal storage. The device is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 7420 64-bit octa-core processor, and a non-removable 3,000mAh battery is available on the inside. The 16-megapixel OIS camera is located on the back of the Note 5, and a 5-megapixel shooter can be found up front. The Note 5 ships with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop pre-installed with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top of Google’s operating system. Just like it’s the case with every ‘Note’ released to date, the Galaxy Note 5 also sports the S Pen stylus, which has picked up some new tricks this time around. The phablet measures 153.2 x 76.1 x 7.6mm, while it weighs 171 grams. That’s more or less it, if anything new pops up before the launch event, we’ll let you know.
