As you probably already know, Xiaomi has unveiled quite a few smartphones this year. The Mi Note, Mi Note Pro, Redmi 2, Redmi 2A, Mi 4i… etc. The Xiaomi Mi 4i was the first Xiaomi-branded smartphone which launched outside of China first, this handset was originally announced in India earlier this year. The phone has become available in additional markets since then though. Anyhow, Xiaomi has been rumored to be working on a new variant of the Mi 4i handset (Mi 4C), and we’ve already seen the device certified by TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC). This is actually supposed to be a Snadpragon 808-powered variant of the Mi 4i, the original handset was fueled by the Snapdragon 615 processor.
That being said, a new Xiaomi Mi 4C-related info surfaced in China. This new rumor says that Xiaomi intends to launch two variants of the device, one variant will ship with 16GB of internal storage and 2GB of RAM, and the other one with 32GB of in-built storage, and 3GB of RAM. In addition, the company is said to manufacture only 100,000 Xiaomi Mi 4C units. The device is expected to be launched on September 24th, and it will become available for purchase on October 3rd according to the available info. The 2GB variant of the device surfaced on OppoMart recetntly, and it was priced at $229. Keep in mind that OppoMart is a reseller, and that the device will be significantly more affordable in China.
The Xiaomi Mi 4C will be almost identical to the Mi 4i, except for the fact it will sport the Snapdragon 808 SoC, and ship in 3GB variant as well. The Xiaomi Mi 4C will sport a 5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) Sharp / JDI display along with 2/3GB of RAM and 16/32GB of internal storage. The 13-megapixel shooter will be located on the back of this phone and flanked by the dual-LED flash, and a 5-megapixel snapper will be available up front. This phone will offer 4G LTE support, and Android 5.1 Lollipop will come pre-installed here with Xiaomi’s MIUI 7 operating system available on top of Google’s OS. That’s more or less it, we’ll report back if new info pops up.
