ZeroLemon's 8,500mAh Battery For LG G4 Now Available At $60

LG announced its latest flagship smartphone, the G4, back in April this year as a replacement for its G3, which was launched back in 2014 as the flag bearer for the company’s extensive array of smartphones. While the handset already comes out of the box with a decent-sized 3,000 mAh battery, it still might not be enough for heavy users to last them through an entire day, seeing as the device comes with an ultra-high-resolution display panel (QHD, 2560 x 1440) and a resource heavy hexa-core processor as part of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 808 chipset. This is exactly where ZeroLemon comes in. The company, which is well known for producing aftermarket batteries and other power related products for mobile devices, has now come up with a new 8,500mAh battery for LG’s latest flagship, something that is sure to catch the attention of users who often find themselves having to fiddle with the charger halfway through the day – on a daily basis.

While the latest offering from ZeroLemon does address a very valid and widespread concern among smartphone users worldwide, the increased capacity does come with its own quirks. The first of which has less to do with the battery itself, and more to do with the placement of the volume buttons on the G4. For the uninitiated, starting with the G2, LG pushed its volume rocker to the back of the device instead of putting them at their traditional position – the top right-hand side. This meant that ZeroLemon had to add back buttons to the custom case it created, to make sure the phone can be used exactly as LG had intended it to be, even after the addition of the aftermarket battery.

The increased size of the battery along with the custom case, means that users will have to deal with exactly 23 grams of extra heft, seeing as the phone’s weight will go up from the original 155 grams to 178 grams, post the enhancement. The phone will also get significantly chunkier with the addition of the case, what with its thickness going up from 9.8 mm to 21.3 mm. According to ZeroLemon, case is made out of soft-touch plastic, and the new 8,500 mAh battery takes around two to three hours to charge fully. The battery (including the case) is now up for sale on Amazon at $60.
