Google held their event in San Francisco this week to show off some tasty new treats as their invitations displayed, and with the announcement came a few tasty new treats indeed. The long-rumored and highly anticipated LG Nexus 5X and Huawei Nexus 6P both received official announcements, as did a brand new tablet called the Pixel C, and two new Google Cast powered products; the second generation Chromecast and Chromecast Audio. Google also officially showed off Android Marshmallow and stated it will be pushed out to Nexus devices as early as next week. All the products have their allure and surely there will be users who favor one or two over the others. The question is, which is it for you personally?
The LG Nexus 5X brings back an old familiar favorite but in a completely new getup with tuned internals, new features, and new software. The Huawei Nexus 6P marks the first time Google has partnered with a Chinese company to make a Nexus device, which is huge in its own right, but also big for Huawei as it marks the milestone of bringing their high-end stuff to the U.S. market. It comes powered by the Snapdragon 810 processor with a 5.7-inch QHD screen, a 12.3MP camera that was rated second best of any smartphone coming up second only behind the Galaxy S6. With the presence of Chromecast Audio, users can now turn regular old speakers into speakers powered by Google Cast technology making them acceptable outlets for streaming music. As for the new Chromecast itself, there are plenty of improvements from better WiFi connection strength, a new more efficient design, and the ability to utilize the new Game Casting feature as well as two new colors. Lastly there’s the Pixel C which is Google’s take on a premium tablet akin to the Pixel Chromebook, only it runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and has an optional keyboard dock that connects to the tablet magnetically. Essentially it’s Google’s answer (sort of) to the iPad Pro and the Microsoft Surface tablets. So, out of all these things, what was most exciting for you about the event earlier this week?
