Samsung’s Galaxy Core Prime Jumps to Android 5.1.1
Outside of the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note names, there are loads of other “Galaxy” smartphones out there. On Verizon, the Galaxy Core Prime is a fairly inoffensive budget option that ticks a lot of boxes for a lot of people. It’s being updated from Android 4.4 KitKat to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, which is quite the leap and will leave your device with some different software looks, but a decent speed improvement as well, we hope. Samsung has all the info available here.

Sony Details Devices to Get Marshmallow Update
Since Android 6.0 Marshmallow officially launched at the end of September, it’s been a rush to find out just which devices will be getting upgraded. Well, this week Sony came out with it, and it’s a comprehensive list. The highlights? The Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z lines won’t be getting the update, which is too bad, but considering they were launched back in 2013 they’ve certainly had a good innings.
Motorola Lists Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update Plans
Just as Sony did, Motorola have recently let users know which of their devices they should expect an upgrade to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and it seems like all of their current devices are getting the update except for the Moto X 2013 and the Moto E from 2015, as well as the original Moto E. This is a shame for some, but Motorola have made it clear this list is only provisional and is subject to change, but as always it’s unsurprising to see budget options left by the wayside, we just expected a little better from Motorola.
