If you are just tuning in, then a good portion of the news today revolves around BlackBerry. After months of speculation and rumors, BlackBerry has finally and officially opened up pre-orders for their latest handset, the BlackBerry PRIV. This is of course, the first BlackBerry device which comes running on the Android operating system. Not to mention, it is a BlackBerry device which maintains the traditional BlackBerry-esque QWERTY keyboard. As such, those who would like the feel of a BlackBerry device but the availability of Android apps are likely going to be very interesting in picking up this phone and now can do so. Although, the price might be somewhat off-putting for some as it is going to cost consumers in the U.S. a cool $699 to buy.
If you are thinking about picking up the BlackBerry PRIV anytime soon, then chances are you will want to know what sort of accessories are on offer as well. On that note and along with the actual PRIV smartphone, BlackBerry has now opened up pre-orders on a whole bunch of accessories to go along with the device. The clear majority of which, are cases. Interestingly though, as well as the more modern looking cases, some of them do adopt a rather traditional Blackberry pouch look and feel. As such, if you are after a leather BlackBerry pouch, then these are on offer in both Black and Tan. Not to mention, there are also flip cases on offer, as well as slide-out cases so that you can make use of that slider keyboard without having to remove the device from the case.
The rest of the accessories are largely charging-based with various USB charge leads and regional-specific charges on offer. Although, there is a couple of sync pods as well, along with a Jabra Mini earpiece and even a stylus. The accessory page does also highlight some new PRIV premium headphones, although these are not available to pre-order just yet and come with a ‘Coming soon’ tag.
