Elephone Reveals Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update Plans

Elephone has been really active thus far this year. This company has released a couple of really compelling smartphones, like the P7000 and P8000 for example. Their high-end ‘Vowney’ phone will be available for purchase soon, and the company is also working on Elephone P9000, P9000C and P9000 Lite device launches. It is also worth mentioning that we can expect the company to roll out their first Android Wear-powered smartwatch before the end of this year, and most probably as soon as next month. This smartwatch is called ELE Watch, and you’ve had a chance to see it on our site already.

That being said, Elephone has reached out to us and revealed their Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade plans. The company has said earlier that all three P9000 devices will ship out with Android 6.0 Marshmallow pre-installed, and now they’ve confirmed that. They’ve also added that the P6000 Pro and P8000 devices will receive the update soon as well. interesting enough, the company did not mention some other devices, like the P7000 for example, which has launched shortly before the P7000 was announced. Elephone hasn’t mentioned any of their ‘M’ devices either, which is kind of odd. We do expect the company to push out the update to those devices as well, perhaps they plan to announce that part later on, we’ll see.

Elephone has changed quite a bit in the last year or so. This China-based company was focused on manufacturing low and mid-range devices made out of metal, and then all of the sudden started making higher-end devices which are quite compelling. Their Elephone P9000 smartphone which will launch soon won’t have any bezel on the sides, and it looks really sleek in the recently leaked images. The ELE Watch is also a nice looking smartwatch, and the fact it will run Android Wear is only a plus for this company. It remains to be seen what else is Elephone is planning for us, until then, stay tuned regarding new info when it comes to Elephone P9000 devices, as well as the ‘Vowney’ and ELE Watch.
